ASUKA SAITO

FOUNDER / DESIGNER

Born in Hokkaido, Japan, Asuka Saito moved to the United States in 2005 in search of new possibilities and a deeper understanding of her own creative voice.

Her journey into jewelry began in San Francisco, where she developed her knowledge of fine jewelry, gemstones, craftsmanship, color, and design. With a background that includes psychology, international relations, color science, and gemology, Asuka approaches jewelry not only as an object of beauty, but as something deeply connected to memory, identity, and human emotion.

Over the years, her work has received international design awards and has been exhibited across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Living between Japanese and American cultures has shaped her distinct creative perspective, bringing together Japanese sensitivity, attention to detail, and appreciation for nature with a modern sense of freedom, movement, and individuality.

Asuka’s growing awareness of the human and environmental stories behind precious materials also led her to explore ethical and sustainable jewelry. For her, sustainability is not simply a trend. It is a natural extension of what jewelry has always represented: something meaningful, enduring, and capable of being passed from one life to another.

In 2020, she founded three x seven Jewelry, the foundation of what has now evolved into ASUKA JEWELRY. In 2023, she also assumed ownership of Miseki Jewelry, a San Francisco jewelry store established in 1967.

Today, Asuka stands as both a creator of new expressions and a steward of an existing legacy.

Through ASUKA JEWELRY, her experiences come together in sculptural forms defined by line, movement, contrast, and space. Each piece is created to celebrate individuality, carry emotion, and become part of the wearer’s personal story.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Asuka’s work is inspired by Japanese aesthetics, nature, memory, and the quiet emotions held within meaningful objects.

She believes jewelry can do more than adorn the body. It can preserve a moment, express an identity, carry the memory of someone important, and connect one generation to the next.

Her designs explore the balance between softness and strength, stillness and movement, structure and organic form.

Each piece is created with the intention of becoming more than an accessory—something personal, lasting, and deeply connected to the life of its wearer.

創業者／デザイナー

北海道に生まれた斉藤明日香は、新たな可能性と自分自身の表現を求め、2005年にアメリカへ渡りました。

サンフランシスコでジュエリーの世界と出会い、ファインジュエリー、宝石、職人技、色彩、デザインについて経験と知識を深めていきます。心理学、国際関係学、色彩学、宝石学など、多様な分野で培った視点を生かし、ジュエリーを単なる美しい装飾品ではなく、記憶、アイデンティティ、感情と深く結びつく存在として捉えています。

これまでに作品は数々の国際的なデザイン賞を受賞し、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アジア各地で展示されてきました。

日本とアメリカ、二つの文化の間で生きてきた経験は、Asuka独自の感性を育てました。日本で培われた繊細さ、細部へのこだわり、自然へのまなざしに、アメリカで得た自由、動き、個性への意識が重なり、現在のデザインへとつながっています。

また、ジュエリーに使われる素材の背景にある、人や環境の物語を意識するようになったことから、エシカルでサステナブルなジュエリーへの探求も始まりました。

Asukaにとってサステナビリティは、一時的な流行ではありません。長く大切にされ、人から人へ、人生から人生へと受け継がれていくという、ジュエリーが本来持つ価値から自然に導かれるものです。

2020年には、現在のASUKA JEWELRYの原点となるthree x seven Jewelryを設立。さらに2023年には、1967年創業のサンフランシスコの宝飾店Miseki Jewelryを継承しました。

現在は、新しい表現を生み出すデザイナーであると同時に、歴史、技術、人とのつながりを次の世代へ受け継ぐ立場でもあります。

ASUKA JEWELRYでは、これまでの経験を、線、動き、コントラスト、余白を生かした彫刻的なフォルムへと昇華しています。

一つひとつのジュエリーが、身につける人の個性や感情を映し出し、その人だけの人生の物語の一部となることを願っています。

デザイン哲学

Asukaの作品は、日本の美意識、自然、記憶、そして意味のあるものに宿る静かな感情からインスピレーションを受けています。

ジュエリーは、身体を飾るだけのものではありません。

ある瞬間を残し、自分らしさを表現し、大切な人の記憶を宿し、世代と世代をつなぐことのできる存在です。

そのデザインでは、柔らかさと強さ、静けさと動き、構築的な形と有機的なフォルムの間にあるバランスを探求しています。

一つひとつの作品が、単なるアクセサリーを超え、持ち主の人生と深く結びつく、個人的で永く大切にされる存在となることを目指しています。
