Founder / Jewelry Designer
Asuka Saito is a Japanese jewelry designer and entrepreneur based in San Francisco. Originally from Sapporo, Japan, she moved to the United States in 2005, where she studied psychology, international relations, color studies, and gemology while building her career in the jewelry industry.
Her multidisciplinary background shaped the way she approaches design — through an understanding of people, culture, color, materials, and the emotional meaning objects can carry.
Over the years, Asuka’s work has received recognition in international design competitions in the United States, Japan, and Italy, and has been exhibited across the U.S., Europe, China, India, and Japan. Since 2017, she has served as a jury member for the A’ Design Award & Competition in Italy.
In 2020, she founded her own fine jewelry brand, which was rebranded as ASUKA JEWELRY in 2026.
In 2023, her journey came full circle when she assumed ownership of Miseki Jewelry, the San Francisco jewelry store established in 1967 where she had built much of her career.
DESIGN PERSPECTIVE
Shaped by her Japanese background and life in America, Asuka’s work brings together Japanese simplicity, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a modern perspective.
Nature, balance, movement, and personal stories are recurring influences in her work. Through sculptural forms, pearls, gemstones, and precious metals, she explores jewelry as something that can move beyond adornment and become part of the wearer’s life.
Her approach is guided by a simple idea: jewelry can hold memories, emotions, and meaning over time.

Rather than treating responsibility as a trend, she believes in making thoughtful choices for people, nature, and future generations — while creating jewelry designed to be valued and carried forward through time.

創業者 / ジュエリーデザイナー
北海道札幌市出身、サンフランシスコを拠点に活動するジュエリーデザイナー、Asuka Saito。2005年に渡米し、心理学、国際関係学、色彩、宝石学など幅広い分野を学びながら、ジュエリー業界でキャリアを築いてきました。
人、文化、色、素材、そして物が持つ感情的な意味への理解を重ねてきた経験は、現在のデザインアプローチにもつながっています。
これまで、アメリカ、日本、イタリアで開催された国際デザインコンテストで受賞し、作品はアメリカ、ヨーロッパ、中国、インド、日本など世界各地で展示されてきました。2017年からは、イタリアで開催されるA’ Design Award & Competitionの審査員を務めています。
2020年に自身のファインジュエリーブランドを設立し、2026年にASUKA JEWELRYとしてリブランディング。
2023年には、自身が長年キャリアを築いた、1967年サンフランシスコ創業のMiseki Jewelryのオーナーシップを継承。ジュエリーとの歩みがひとつにつながる、まさに“full circle”となる節目を迎えました。
DESIGN PERSPECTIVE
日本で培った感性とアメリカでの暮らし、その両方から影響を受けながら、日本的なシンプルさ、クラフトマンシップ、細部へのこだわりと、モダンな視点を融合させたデザインを追求しています。
自然、バランス、動き、そして一人ひとりの物語は、Asukaの作品に繰り返し現れるテーマです。彫刻的なフォルムや、パール、天然石、貴金属などを通して、ジュエリーを単なる装飾ではなく、身につける人の人生の一部となる存在として表現しています。
ジュエリーは、時間とともに記憶や感情、意味を宿していくことができる。その考えが、Asukaのものづくりの根底にあります。

ジュエリーは、完成した姿だけでなく、どのように生まれたのかも大切だと考えています。
素材がどこから来たのか、その背景にいる人々や職人の技術、そして制作の過程で重ねられる一つひとつの選択に目を向けます。
「責任あるものづくり」を一時的なトレンドとして捉えるのではなく、人、自然、そして次の世代のために思慮ある選択を重ねながら、時を超えて大切にされるジュエリーを生み出していくことを目指しています。
